Marrying Tony
Stefano was at the time dying of a brain tumor. His last wish was that Kristen would marry "Tony" and so Kristen told John she had to do just that. In the meantime, John tried to find evidence that Stefano killed Curtis. But when Stefano found out John was the father of Belle, Marlena's daughter, Kristen made up her mind and wanted to continue marrying "Tony". But Kristen left "Tony" at the altar to help John and Marlena to find Belle, who was kidnapped. Sami actually tried to sell her little sister, but due to Kristen's help John recovered his daughter. The second time Kristen and "Tony" tried to get married, John claimed he found evidence about Curtis' murder. Stefano hopped in his car and made it look like he was running away. John shot his car and Stefano had arranged for his car to explode, faking his own death. Stefano's plan worked and Kristen blamed John for her father's death. So it happened that Kristen and "Tony" finally tied the knot on February 14, 1994.
