Arrival in Salem
Kristen Blake came to Salem in 1993 as a social worker. Kristen was mugged just outside the clinic she was working, in a park, but John Black came to her rescue. After she found out who he was Kristen tried to stay away from John, also because her brother Peter told her to. Kristen and John were again in danger when a mysterious sniper fired at John and Kristen was around. John risked his life to bring Kristen in safety and she found it harder to deny her attraction. Alice Horton played the role of match-maker and enlisted Kristen and John to run the Horton center. She also arranged for the both of them to meet in the Horton Cabin. There Kristen and John made love for the first time. Kristen wanted to keep their relationship a secret. After Curtis Reed kidnapped her father Stefano, Kristen agreed to meet Curtis. John had followed Kristen and they made love again. When Kristen finally met Curtis, he demanded a large amount of money in exchange for her father's freedom. Kristen didn't have that much, but Curtis settled for her jewelry. Later, Stefano killed Curtis. John finally learned that Stefano was Kristen's father. John and Stefano were already enemies at that time. Later, Kristen told John has Stefano was not her biological father, but that he raised her and Peter after her parents died. Everyone in Salem told Kristen that Stefano was a bad man, but she wouldn't listen. It also turned out Kristen was actually engaged to Tony DiMera, although it was actually André pretending to be Tony.
