About the miscarriage and Susan
After the explosions in the underground of Paris, Marlena and Kristen were taken to a hospital to be checked out. Kristen had lost her baby. She was devastated, but decided to keep it a secret in an attempt to hold on to John. That's why she also blackmailed the doctor. The doctor however told John he could not make love to Kristen. With the help of her brother Peter, Kristen installed a hypnotic device of Stefano -who was still alive ofcourse- behind the mirror of her bedroom so John would make love to her and she could get pregnant again. However Kristen didn't get pregnant again and while making love to John he called out Marlena's name. When she had another doctor's appointment Kristen thought it was all over, but Stefano rescued the day. He brought Susan Banks to Salem, a woman who looked exactly like Kristen thanks to a wig and false teeth. In the meantime Kristen carried a pregnency pad, so everyone thought she was still pregnant. Although Marlena was very suspicious. After Susan had given birth, she would give her child to Kristen in exchange for a lot of money. Susan turned out to be an ugly, crazy woman who soon depeloved a deep love for her child. When Susan went into labor John surprised everyone by bringing a priest into the room. John wanted to marry Kristen before the child was born, but actually married Susan. Kristen, who dressed up as a nurse, watched all this. Susan handed her child over to Kristen, who named the baby 'John junior'.
Susan felt very close to her son and couldn't get herself to leave. She called her son 'Elvis junior', after her idol Elvis Presley. Susan refused to leave without her son and Kristen had to tell John she hired Susan as the baby's nanny. So Susan began living with John and Kristen at the DiMera Mansion. Susan wanted to tell John everything, but Kristen told her then she would burn down Graceland. Susan started to bother Kristen more and more and acted crazier every day. She went to Dr. Marlena Evans for counseling. Susan told Marlena an evil woman was about to steal her husband and child. Susan was also thinking that Ivan and Vivian, who were blackmailed into helping Kristen, were vampires. In the meantime Laura was pushing Marlena to tell John about her feelings for him. At Peter's funeral Laura had seen Kristen adjusting her pregnancy pad. Laura ran back into the church where she came face to face with Stefano and a very much alive Peter. Stefano admitted the dead body was Daniel Scott's with a latex mask of Peter on. Kristen found out the truth about Peter also. Stefano wanted to take Laura with him, but Kristen and Peter urged him to find another solution. So Stefano had one of his scientists erase Laura's memory of the past days with a laser. But Marlena did discover the truth about Kristen when she visited the Mansion and found a rock on the floor that she gave to Susan. Marlena realized Kristen had lost her baby and passed Susan's off as her own. Marlena was about to tell John everything, but Kristen still had something on her sleeve.
